February 12, 2014 – Impact Hub Oakland is the first tenant to move into the Hive, an office, retail and housing development that Signature Development Group is building in Oakland.
February 2014 – “The Uptown neighborhood is hot,” says Mike Ghielmetti, head of Signature Development Group, who is developing the Hive. “Are we going to get traditional department stores? Maybe, maybe not; but what we are getting is a lot of ‘downtown retail’—clothing stores, restaurants, bakeries, the kind of experiential retail that you can’t get anywhere else, and you can’t get it online.”
December 3, 2013 – At the corner of Broadway and 23rd Street in Oakland, construction crews are hammering away on the Hive, a mixed-use development with space for 104 apartments and 100,000 square feet of office and retail, aiming to capture the Uptown buzz.
