The Future of SoCal Recap
November15th, 2016 / Los Angeles

Bisnow’s Inaugural SoCal Super Regional Event was recently held at the Millennium Biltmore hotel in LA. Coming off an unprecedented presidential election, industry leaders met to discuss The Future of SoCal.

Market perception of the presidential election is anti-trade policies, less regulation and lower taxation. The expansion of the economy is in its 75 month and is probably nearing the end and the Fed is indicating that inflation may be on the way. Due to an inability to predict whats in the near future, most firms are staying very cautious and assessing matters deal by deal. Office space has become a leading issue and companies are looking to adapt traditional spaces in non-traditional ways. There is a demand to create a distinction in the market and a rejection of one-size-fits-all. For some companies, the office has become a recruiting tool with amenities, food, proximity to transportation, open ceilings and outdoor areas as selling points.
