The Access

Brooklyn Basin offers easy access to world-class Bay Area employers, entertainment and recreation in storied parks and nature preserves. Located directly east of the flourishing Jack London District, and just southeast of downtown Oakland’s central business district (CBD), Brooklyn Basin is positioned very well. Commuters will be afforded immediate access to San Francisco, the East Bay and Silicon Valley.

“Oakland is one of the best situated cities in the Bay Area — it’s really in the middle of the Bay Area — and Brooklyn Basin is really in the middle of Oakland.”

— Michael Ghielmetti, President, Signature Development Group

Oakland

A growing downtown population, along with waterfront revitalization efforts and the correspondent influx of restaurants, shops and entertainment, is promoting massive transformation in Oakland. Parallels have been drawn between New York’s Brooklyn and Oakland, colloquially called the “Brooklyn of the West.” Within Oakland, the Temescal district is a veritable microhood bustling with chic cafés, restaurants and boutiques. The Uptown District of downtown Oakland is home to the Fox Theater, a landmark cultural icon, and just blocks from that is Lake Merritt, a gorgeous waterfront destination with 3.5 miles of shoreline trails. Jack London Square is an eclectic community with a mix of new homes, retail, restaurants and offices. This vital urban neighborhood has recently experienced revitalization with new residential developments attracting an educated and engaged population of professionals.

San Francisco

A jewel city of the West Coast, San Francisco boasts numerous attractions from art museums, music venues and world-class eateries, to premiere institutions and proximity to Silicon Valley. One of the most iconic views in the United States is that of the Golden Gate Bridge with its stunning views of the Bay and Marin County hills. Explore shopping in famed Pacific Heights, stroll along the Embarcadero for the bustling Saturday farmers market and take in the many parks throughout the city.

Alameda

If you want to feel like you’re on vacation, Alameda is an attractive and charming community located within minutes of Brooklyn Basin which provides just that. The island has the appeal of a secluded suburb, with the access of urban living. Enjoy beaches, dining and shopping along Main Street, or rent bicycles for the day and comb the many sleepy, tree-lined streets.
